Linda Ophelia Berg

Linda Ophelia Berg, age 80, of Lake Worth, Florida passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022 after a brief illness. Linda was born on September 29th, 1942 to Robbie Lou Lang and James Lacey Hardin in Winfield, Alabama. In 1977, she moved to Palm Beach County, Florida with her daughter, Karen, and son, Mark.

On July 12,1981, she married Kenneth Robert Berg in the city of Lake Worth, Florida. Linda was a proud grandmother to two grandchildren, named Stephanie and Michael, and great grandmother to four grandkids, named Jeremy, Jordan, Jacob, and Nicholas. The family, many friends, relatives, and acquaintances loved Linda.

One of Linda's favorite pastimes was to sit on the front porch and talk with neighbors as they walked by with their dogs. Linda was a dog lover. Linda was also very creative and enjoyed decorating flower beds around the house. One of her biggest joys was watching the University of Alabama's "Crimson Tide" football game each week during their football season. Her favorite color is "Crimson Red."

Our Southern Lady was also a great cook and loved cooking for birthdays, holidays, and special events.

Linda always dressed neatly, appropriately for each day- casually, professionally, or formally. She also always greeted everyone with her broad, friendly, and inviting smile.

During her life in Palm Beach County, Linda was employed as a bookkeeper and office manager for two successful construction companies. Linda was also involved in traffic safety and drunk driver prevention- she founded MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) in the early 1990's, and was a member of MADD's Victim Impact Panel for many years.

Everyone that met and interacted with Linda knew her to be friendly, knowledgeable, fair, hard-working, strong-willed, thorough, and dedicated to solve any personal, family, or business situation that happened to come up.

A celebration of life services for Linda will be held Saturday, December 10, 2022 starting at 2:00 PM; Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461.
