Stephen Grinage, age 91 of Lake Odessa, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024. Stephen was born on July 9, 1933 in Plainwell, MI to Allan and Maxine Grinage. He was a 1951 graduate of Woodland High School. Steve proudly served in the Army during the Korean War. In 1957 he married the love of his life, Alma Gray, and together they had 67 years of marriage and raised three children together. Steve was a barber 18 years, and then he worked for GM until retirement. In retirement, he enjoyed continuing his farming with his trusty dog Rusty and keeping up his garden, as well as taking pride in keeping his yard looking good.
Stephen will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Alma; children Penny (Steve) Grinage-Guy, Connie Grinage, and Jeff (Linda) Grinage; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters Gloria Heath, Gayle (Roger) Chase, Marsha (Lavon) Hamp, and Paula (Brian) Killewald; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Slater; and brother-in-law, Robert Heath.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2024 at Koops Funeral Chapel. Burial will take place following the service at Sunfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Steve's name go to either the Wounded Warrior Project or Manna's Market.
