Mark Lester Willard, 64, of Lake Odessa, MI passed away on November 29, 2020 at home. Mark was born February 6, 1956 in Sioux Falls, SD, the son of Merle and Grace (Park) Willard. He grew up on the Willard Homestead, Colton, SD. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Colton, SD. On October 21,1978 Mark married Carlotta (Dysart) Willard at St. Josephs Cathedral in Sioux Falls, SD.
Mark graduated from South Dakota State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Over his career he held several roles within the Engineering field. Mark was privileged to work as an entrepreneur designing and inventing recreational equipment. He retired from his role as a Supplier Quality Engineer for Ford Motor Company. His passion was being a coach, mentor and father to his children and their peers. Mark’s laughter and jovial spirit brought joy to all in his presence. He walked in faith daily with his wife Carlotta and lived by the Golden Rule. They prayed The Lord’s Prayer together every night, and most recently, Mark and Carlotta enjoyed praying bedtime prayers every night with their youngest grandson.
Mark was a devoted and loving husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carlotta; children, Tonya (Alonzo) Alford, Tiffany Willard, Tuesday (Larry Jr.) Williams, Travis (Alexandra) Willard, Taryn Willard; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, James (Janice) Willard, Roger (Sherri) Willard, Linda (Lester) Corporon, Glenn Ungerer, David (Kathy) Willard, Robert (Rose Mary) Willard, Daniel Willard; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Dorothy, mother and father-in-law, Lettie and Francis DeMar, and sister, Carole Ungerer.
In Lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
