Jill VanDeVelde, age 75, of Lake Odessa, Michigan passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023. Jill was born in Lansing, Michigan on February 15, 1948 to Charles and Patricia (Walsh) Swift. She was a lifelong Lake Odessa resident. Jill was a very caring individual taking joy in caring for family and friends, along with working with the Right to Life group, and was a member of St. Edwards Church. Jill enjoyed her flowers, especially Orchids, and keeping many plants alive longer than what her family thought possible.
Jill is survived by her husband of 57 years, Mick VanDeVelde; her son Michael VanDeVelde (April); and her daughter Cathy Lum (Jon), 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren siblings, Pamela Tingley, Bob Tingley (Jolene), sister in law Karol Swift along with many nieces, nephews and many friends.
Jill was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Mary VanDeVelde, brothers Kelly Walkington and Tom Swift, sister in law Kelly Tingley.
Visitation is planned at Koops Funeral chapel for Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 6pm until 8pm with Rosary at 7:45pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Lake Odessa on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 11am with burial taking place in Lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa, MI.
