She was born in Queens, NY and resided there until retiring in 1994 to Lake Charles to be with family. She worked in Manhattan, loved to travel, do crossword puzzles and collect antique dolls.
Survivors include her son, Charles "Skip" Strobel Jr. and wife, Carolee of Virginia; daughter, Jeanne Earley and companion, Frank Garriet of Sulphur; grandchildren, Charles "Skippy" Strobel and wife, Laurel of New York, Eugene Earley of Sulphur, Casey Strobel and wife, Lisa of Lake Charles, Jennifer Earley Zimmerman and husband, Danny of Lake Charles; 13 great grandchildren.
Her funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday, January 31, 2011 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Rev. Ronnie Estes will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin Monday morning at 10 a.m. and continue til the start of service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brighton Bridge Hospice and Grand Cove Nursing Center.
