He loved to hunt and spend time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Guidry Fontenot; daughters, Jona Fontenot of San Antonio, TX, Becky Fontenot of Longview, TX, Cheryl Woodard and husband, Kirvee of Vinton, LA, Glenda Navarre of Ville Platte, LA, Karen Smith and husband, Vaughn of Lake Charles, LA; sons, Michael Fontenot and wife, Kelly of Sulphur, LA, Wayne Fontenot and wife, Tonya of Iowa, LA; sister, Mildred Lafleur and husband, Duffy of LeBleu, LA; brothers, Murry Fontenot and wife, Zeller of Dry Creek, LA, Roy Fontenot and wife of Iowa, LA; 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ricky Fontenot and 2 sisters and 5 brothers.

His funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010 at First Pentecostal Church of Gillis. Rev. Rod Buller will officiate. Burial will be in LeBleu Cemetery in Chloe.
