As teenage friends with Nikki (granddaughter), Mrs. Launza & family would open their doors to me and always made me feel welcome each time I visited. She was such a sweet, funny, and inviting spirit of a woman whom I will never forget. I'm blessed to have known her for the time that I did. My family and I took our first out of state family vacation back in 1989, and we stopped and visited with Aunt Pat and Uncle R. S. Aunt Pat’s hospitality was out of this world, along with Uncle R. S. She was so kind to us and made us feel right at home. From that time on, when we traveled toward the east coast we would stop by and visit with them. This was our routine during the span of 30 years.
Aunt Pat would talk with my wife like a mother full of wisdom, love, and admiration. One morning we were getting ready to go somewhere.  Now, having 5 daughters and 1 son, and a need to speed things up my wife would do the girls hair and I would do the ironing. This was our way of getting to places on time. Once Aunt Pat and Uncle R.S saw me ironing I tried to explain why I was ironing they stopped me immediately telling us that’s the way an marriage is supposed to work, both husband and wife working together. And remember to keep people out of our business and to do what works for us. Rest in paradise Aunt Pat, we love you.

Dear Aunt Pat, you were the epitome of a loving and caring person. You always held a special place in my heart. Your smile and your laugh were so pure and warm. You always welcomed us with a hug and a smile. The vacations that we spent with you all have been endearing with the treasured memories. I will forever be thankful for having had you play a significant role in my life. Love, Reginald ❤️🕊️🙏🌹

My fondest memory of my Beloved cousin was the story she would always tell me when we were in each other’s company  about how she brought me home from the hospital when I was an infant and proudly claimed how that was a significant factor in the beginning years of my life.  I will miss that distinctive laugh that would make one say, Oh I hear Tricia in the house! The last meeting I encountered her presents was at Pete’s wedding and how my heart was full of joy to see her smile and dance. You will truly be missed, get your rest cousin TRICIA, you can now laugh infinitely with family and friends gone before you.

My mom was the best mom in my world dad, her and I went on long rides my dad would always say that he  use too walk from Chenault Air Force Base all the way too North Lake Charles on Cessford Street just too visit my mom  back when they were Courting  He would always want too take that route.  Riding with the both of them was never a dull moment

Nana…Words cannot express the depth of my gratitude and the immense love I have for you. I will deeply miss you - your voice, our conversations, and the countless pieces of godly advice you shared w/me. Most of all, I will miss your laughter and your remarkable ability to make people around you feel seen and valued.  You are the epitome of the Proverbs 31 Woman…many daughters have done well, but you excel them all. Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. This is not goodbye but A Hui Hou 🌺 (Until we meet again). I love you 💗.

Our heart and prayer's go out to you and your family. I know she will be missed by many. She lived a long and fruitful life and was very much loved and gave many others comfort when she was here on this Earth.  Always remember the good times.

Ms Pat, which is the name I will forever remember her, was a good friend of my parents. This woman has known me since I was a small child. She even pressed my hair with a pressing comb many years ago in her kitchen.  I spent the night at her house more times than I could count. Wonderful spirit, very funny. Very honest about life and transparent by telling you the mistakes she made and the lessons she learned from them.  She often would say “I’m not perfect but I’ve learned this much…” I appreciate all the lessons she was willing to share to not only her kids,  but to her friends and her friend’s kids. She will be sorely missed. My deepest prayers for the family. Prayers especially to you Mr. Raymond during this difficult time. I love you all and will miss her very much,  Ayola Nneka Vesey

To the Launza Family we will miss my friend Pat. I can remember in Anchorage Pat was having a Tupperware party on the same date Raymond was coming home from the slope. It was so funny we said the party is over Raymond is home and we would just laugh. We had so many fun times together.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Raymond Launza; children, Renee Alford, Diriska Woods and husband Gregory, John Launza and wife Yolanda, Tonya Washington and husband Alex and Anthony Launza and Kelly; ten grandchildren, Jocelyn, Christa, Jasmine, Brianna, Jaylen, Dasia, Anthony, Adam, Alexis and Landon; four great grandchildren, Ariel, Danielle, Aiden and Christian and brother, Elton Thomas and wife, Gloria.


She is preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Johnathan Launza; sister, Willie Bell Thomas and three brothers, Landry Thomas, Jr., Wardell Thomas and Andrew Thomas.
