Michael G. Irving, 67, of Iowa passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on November 19, 2016. He was born in 1949 in Lake Charles, LA to John and Vivian Irving. Michael was a 1968 graduate of LaGrange High School and was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving during Vietnam from September 1969 – September 1971. Michael married the love of his life, Patricia Mallett, in 1977 and lived and loved until her passing in 2011.
Upon returning from the service, Michael went offshore and worked as a tool pusher until he retired in 2009. Michael was a quiet man who kept to himself, but had a deep love of family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is predeceased by his wife; Patricia Mallett Irving, his parents; John and Vivian Irving, brother; John D. Irving. Michael is survived by his children; Michael Irving, Alissa (Damian) Willis and Johnathan Irving, grandson; Ryn Willis, step-grandson; Damian Willis, brother Jack Irving, sisters; Joyce Grooms, Billie Walker, Nita Kornoffer and Camille Davis, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Friday, November 25, 2016 from 5-8:00 pm with Rosary at 6:00pm at Hixson Funeral Home 3001 Ryan St., Lake Charles, LA. Resuming Saturday at 8:30 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Burial to follow at St. John in Lacassine.
