Maxine was born in Chicago, Ill to Max Robert Oehler and Marjorie Clark on July 18, 1943. She lived her entire life in Lake Charles/Moss Bluff area, LA, and graduated from LaGrange High School, Class of 1961. Maxine went on to work in child care, owning Hart’s Child Care for 37 years.
She was incredibly compassionate. Maxine was known for her gardening skills and adoration of her grandchildren. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and watching TV.
She is preceded in death by her parents Max and Marjorie Oehler; sister, Linda Jo Pontiff; and husbands, Clifton Paul Ledet, Billie Dean Hart, and Donald Alvin Schultz.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Nicole Woodcock and husband Damon; Brandi Dering and husband Troy; sister, Joyce McDaniel; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, Monday, November 22, 2021 from 4pm-6pm. Visitation will resume Tuesday at 8am, where a Celebration of Life led by Jody Barrilleaux will begin at 10am. Interment will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
