Mary Sonnier

Mary was born in Greece and met the love of her life, Jerry Sonnier, of 46 years, on a river boat in Memphis, TN. Her hobbies were, cooking, crocheting, playing bingo, feeding the ducks at the park, listening to jokes, and most of all playing with her grandchildren. She traveled to Europe and throughout the U.S. She was a beautiful person with high standards and morals. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Sonnier of Lake Charles; sons, Scott Sonnier and wife Becky of Lake Charles, Jaco Sonnier of McKinney,TX; brothers, John G. Overbeck and wife Niki of Palestine,TX; Tom G. Overbeck of Baltimore,MD; and seven grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Dr. Alvin H. Overbeck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am, Monday, January 5, 2014 at St. Martin DePorres Catholic Church. Rev. Jace Eskind will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, 4:00pm until 8:00pm, with a rosary at 6:00pm and resume Monday from 8:00am until time of service at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
