She was born in Bastrop, LA and lived in Lake Charles for over 64 years. Laura was a member of Community Christian Church. She worked in the court system as an advocate for children. Laura retired from the school district as a counselor. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Horace Guillory; daughter, Sheila Manuel and husband, Richard of Dallas, TX; brother, Jimmy Hughes of Bastrop, LA; sister, Molly Childs of Tacoma, WA; grandchildren, Laura Gregg and husband, Richard of Mansfield, TX and Tim Manuel and wife, Lori of Grand Prairie, TX; and great grandchildren, Shelby Gregg, Sunny Manuel, Zoe Manuel and Mark Isaac Manuel.
Visitation will be Friday, August 21, 2015 from 11am until service time at 2pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Brother Dave Veillon will officiate. Burial will be in Black Bayou Cemetery. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
