Kenneth Van Moss Sr.

He was born in Lake Charles, lived in Houston for over 30 years, prior to moving to Westlake. He was a graduate of McNeese State University, University of Houston and Rice University where he had earned his Bachelor's, Master's and was a thesis away from his Ph.D. in Physics. He worked for IBM and NASA on the Apollo and Skylab programs. He was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy in 2000 but lived for more than 10 years after he was told he only had about a year left. He was a loving, caring and patient father and grandfather.

He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Van Moss Jr. of Virginia, Matthew Ryan Moss of Lake Charles; daughters, Danielle R. Moss of Westlake, Esther Kathleen Stach of Salt Lake City, UT, Lacey T. Moss of Houston, TX, Adrianna P. Moss of The Woodlands, TX; brother, James Moss Jr. of Lake Charles; sister, Kathleen Smith of Spring, TX; grandchildren, Rhianna Elizabeth Moss, Jacob Childress Glosson, Alexa Stach, Ashley Stach and William Stach.

His funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Burial will be in Sallier Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. til 2 p.m. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
