Joyce Taylor

She was born in Church Point and lived in Lafayette and Lake Charles for most of her life. Joyce was a member of St. Margaret and St. Raphael Catholic Churchs. She worked at St. Martin DePorres before retirement. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Survivors include three sons, Sherman Bernard of Lake Charles, Joseph Bernard of DeQuincy and Harold Bernard of Crowley; two daughters, Mary Courville of Starks and Charlene Gary of LeBleu Settlement; one sister, Margaret Trahan of Houston; 23 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; her best friend and sister-in-law, Martha Leger. She was preceded in death by four daughters, Sandra Bernard, Linda Bernard, Sheila Kenny and Barbara Netherland; her parents, Warren and Evelyn Richard; and one sister, Effie Benoit.

Her funeral will be at 10a.m. Saturday, June 14, at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Rev. Jeff Starkovich will officiate. Burial will be in Farquhar Cemetery.
