Gordon Ashley Edwards

He was a graduate of Marion High School, where he played football. He worked for Texaco as a Truck Driver for 15 years, then worked at Citgo until his retirement. Gordon enjoyed woodworking, fishing, watching the Saints, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved to BBQ and have everyone over to eat and visit. Gordon loved to spend time at his pond and sitting on his front porch. He was always making jokes and loved playing practical jokes on people. Gordon was the best father and husband, and was loved by all.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 loving years, Carolyn Edwards; daughters, Jennifer Buck of Lake Charles, LA and Deborah Harrison of Beaumont, TX; son, Jeffrey Moss of Georgia; grandchildren, Jared Buck, Melissa Rodriguez, Nicholas Harrison, Amber Harrison, Heather Guillory, Will Brown, John Brown, Stacey Edwards, Jessica Edwards, Stephen Edwards, Christina Edwards; and great-grandchildren, Triston and Olivia Rodriguez, Elliot Harrison, Jackson Guillory, Opal Bang, Addie Tamayo, Nicholas Geddes, Taylor Phillips, and Bradley Phillips.

Gordon is preceded in death by his sons, Jason Edwards and Mark Edwards; grandson, Ashley Edwards; sister, Jane Miers; brother, Douglas Edwards; and parents, Earl and Bessie Edwards.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Hixson Funeral Home, Lake Charles, on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until the Celebration of Life Service, led by Bro. Alan Weishampel, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Prien Memorial Park.
