David Lee Hebert, 72, of Lake Charles, passed into the arms of his Savior, on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Lake Charles on July 13, 1948. He loved his cars and he raced his very first car, a 1969 Dodge Cornette. He enjoyed fishing in his younger years and keeping the yard and garden beautiful. Most of all, he enjoyed visiting with his friends.
He was a parishioner at St. Margaret Catholic Church for all of his life. He was a Graduate of Dale Carnegie Course. David was a member of the Choctaw-Apache tribe of Sabine Parish.
He worked hard all of his life at various jobs, including Don's Car Wash, Davidson Sash and Doors, Service Glass, Webb Engineering, Offshore, and Napa Auto Parts.
David was a hardworking man and would do anything to help everyone. He took great care of his mother, Lucille, who he loved very much. He always had a story to tell, to anyone who would listen. He never met a stranger.
David is survived by his mother, Lucille S. Hebert; siblings, Nellie Turnbough and husband Don of Muscatine, Iowa, Doug Hebert and wife Millie of Lake Charles, Arlene Hebert of Lake Charles, Darlene Broussard and husband Brady of Lake Charles. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Jim Turnbough and wife Lisa, Julie Mashek, and Lauren Broussard; and also 5 great nephews, and 2 great nieces. He leaves behind his dearly beloved Godparents, Orgy and Adrienne Broussard.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Lee Hebert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Margaret Catholic Church on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 10:00 am, with Reverend Samuel Orsot. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Sunday, October 4, 2020, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Monday, from 8:00 am until the procession to the church. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles.
