William Albert Craig was born December 16, 1941 and raised in Geneva, Ohio, graduating from Geneva High School in 1959 and was preceded in death by his parents William and Ellen (Stokes) Craig, his brother Thomas and various aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mr. Craig graduated in 1959 from Geneva High School and worked as the youngest station manager for SOHIO gas before leaving to work at Geneva True Temper and eventually Rockwell Plastics/Cambridge. In 1984 he was relocated to Louisville, KY providing quality oversight to product made for Louisville Ford Truck Plant and various truck manufacturers including Freightliner, Volvo, GM and others.
His hobbies included riding and showing quarter horses with his daughters. He also enjoyed bass fishing, camping and woodworking. In 2003 he became a member of the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen, where he served as Treasurer and participated in area art shows selling his bowls, vases, plates and dishes as Bill’s Wood Turnings.
Mr. Craig is survived by Janet, his wife of 61 years, his daughters Susan Conrad (Tim) of Saybrook, OH and Sharon Edwards (Marvin), of Vevay, Indiana; grandchildren Megan, Michael, Alex Day of Kentucky, Nathan Edwards of Indiana, Tim and Christopher (Nicole) Conrad and great grandchildren Ben, Lydia and Maelynn Conrad all of Ohio and Jaxon Breckenridge of Kentucky.
The family expresses sincere gratitude to Baptist Medical Group and Baptist Hospital for their excellent care of Mr. Craig.
Per Mr. Craig’s wishes, the family with have a memorial at a later date.
