She was born to the late Otha Lee and Nellie Mae (Bourne) Jones on July 3, 1932.
Mattie worked for the Oldham County Board of Education and worked as the cafeteria manager at OCMS for 31 years. She was also a member of Buckner Christian Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Edward Hall; son, Russell Freeman Hall and siblings, Howard Jones, Pauline Wise, and Wanda Chandler.
Left to cherish the memory of Mattie are her children, Edward L. Hall, Patsy Lanter (Cary), and Joyce Gerhard (Bob); 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, siblings, Jack Cox Jones, Marlene Lentz, Evelyn Jones, and DeAnn Jones, extended family and friends.
A celebration of Mattie's life will be held at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11am with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday evening from 4-8pm.
