Louis Edward Ludwig

He was born to the late Louis and Marie Ludwig on May 9, 1943, in Tell City, Indiana.

Ed was a huge Louisville Basketball fan and a member of Covenant Church. He played the trumpet in high school, continuing to play during his time in the Army, where he got the privilege of playing for a Presidential Inauguration. He worked at Jim Waits Chrysler for many years, retiring as the Finance Manager. Ed later became a member of the American Legion Post 39 and was involved in the Masonic Lodge.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Edna S. (Bivin) Ludwig.

Left to cherish the memory of Ed are his daughters, Jennifer Lindell (Doug) and LaDonna Shaffer (Mike); grandchildren, Krystal Miller (Chris), Garrett McElroy (K'Lee), Jessica Hassing (Tyler), and Brittany Lindell; great-grandchildren, Jackson Miller, Grayson Miller, Lane Miller, Tucker McElroy, Paislee McElroy, and Everly Hassing; extended family and friends.

A celebration of Ed's life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 3pm at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, KY with burial to follow in Valley of Rest Cemetery in LaGrange. A time of gathering will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 1pm until the start of the service.
