Joseph Alexander Crabtree

Joseph Alexander Crabtree, 78, of Pendleton, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly at home on the morning of Friday, October 18, 2024. Born on August 14, 1946, in Louisville, KY, he was the son of the late Marvin and Carmel Weber Crabtree.

A man full of life, Joe was known for his infectious smile and his ability to bring joy to those around him. Joe's enthusiasm for life and love for family and friends made him a beloved figure in his community.

A graduate of the Oldham County Class of 1965, he loved staying in touch with his classmates monthly. He was a proud Navy Veteran and active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in LaGrange as an usher.

Joe was heavily involved with The Quads Car Club and enjoyed his poker club for 47 years. Joe also enjoyed being the life of the party and his social gatherings, two of his favorites being weekly bus driver luncheons and the monthly L.I.F.T. Group. His love for golfing took him many places for weekly foursomes, always taking his clubs on vacations to Florida and Myrtle Beach.

Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Judy Crabtree and sister, Sherry Hardin.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda McDonald Crabtree, his daughter Jennifer Hillebrandt (Anthony), stepsons Jonathan Marsh (Gwen) and Nathan Marsh (Jenny), and his treasured grandchildren: Anthony Hillebrandt (Allison), Austin Hillebrandt, and Alexandria Hillebrandt. Joe was also a proud great-grandfather to Joseph Scott Hillebrandt, Parker Anthony Hillebrandt, and Owen Elijah Hillebrandt. He is also survived by his brothers, John Crabtree (Mary) and Michael Weber Sr. (Laura), brother-in-law, David Hardin, many nieces and nephews, extended family, and so many friends!

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, located at 502 N 5th Ave, LaGrange, on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Noon followed by burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens East, 11601 Ballardsville Rd, Louisville. Visitation will be at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange from 9am until the start of Mass on Thursday.

Joe will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on in the hearts and memories of his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Crusade for Children through the LaGrange Fire and Rescue Department in his memory.
