He was born February 4, 1949, in Louisville, Kentucky.
John graduated from Loyal University Chicago and the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. He was an accomplished attorney in private practice for 20 years, and finished his career as Legal Council for the Metropolitan Sewer District.
John was recently granted the title of Lord John William Braun of Dunfermline, Scotland.
John was survived by his wife, Sherry (Sharon) Montgomery Braun, daughters Jessica, Emily, Eleanor and Beth, grandchildren Christopher Woods, Skylar and Riley Vacanti, Dylan Braun, and Gabriel and PenelopeEads, and brother Mark Braun. He was predeceased by his sister Jane and twin brother Jim (James).
John enjoyed singing, and was a former member and master of ceremonies of The Louisville Thoroughbred Chorus, and member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Choir. He was an avid hunter, who frequently traveled to Canada, and went on African Safari on three separate occasions. John was a wine and bourbon enthusiast, who appreciated fine dining, golfing and traveling with his wife and family.
A mass of remembrance will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in LaGrange Kentucky at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. Visitation will be held at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home in LaGrange, Kentucky, on Tuesday from 4-8 PM.
