James "Jimmy" L. Roberts

He was born in LaGrange, KY to Earl Roberts Sr and Ruth Davis Roberts on November 23, 1939.

Jimmy graduated from OCHS in 1957 then he enlisted into the US Air Force for 7 years. Later attending Eastern Kentucky University for Law Enforcement Training. On January 1, 1978, after various positions with the state and Sheriff's department, Jim was asked to join the OCPD by Judge Wendell Moore, who created the OCPD with only four officers; Chief George Hall, Walt Asbell, Steve Nobles and Jimmy. Jim was the last to pass and join his brothers in blue.

Jimmy was also a member of the FOP Lodge 62, on the LaGrange Board of Adjustments and Appeals, a member of the LaGrange Cemetery Company Board and a longtime member and Usher at Covenant United Methodist Church.

In 2012, after his wife Janice met her Lord, Jim met Micki; whom he married September 19, 2014.

He is preceded in death by his parents, older brother; Earl Roberts Jr (Wendy) and wife; Janice Martin Roberts.

Left to cherish the memory of Jimmy are his wife; Micki Boutcher Roberts, son; Timothy "Timber" Roberts, bonus sons; Clay Hudnall (Ashley) and Field Hudnall (Jessica), 4 grandchildren, which called him PoPo; Knox Hudnall (8), Cameron Hudnall (6), Kip Hudnall(5) and Peyton Hudnall (2), extended family and friends.

A celebration of Jimmy's life will be held at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home, 706 W Jefferson St, LaGrange, KY on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 11am with burial to follow at Valley of Rest. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 4-8pm at the funeral home.

Jim was a wonderful, loving, caring Christian man serving the Lord and others. He touched everyone that met him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in memory of Jimmy to the American Heart Association, Hosparus or an organization dear to your heart.
