I can’t believe it been a year already. I remember the first time I met Craig, he was selling seeds to get money to buy a mini bike and I was delivering papers in his neighborhood. The last time I was in touch with him I sent him a picture of a car that looked like his father’s LTD and he commented back to me about it. It was the day before he died. 
Rest in peace old friend.

To Craig Wood, Jr. and family,
I met your father Craig,  early spring of last year at a church gathering at his friend Dan’s house.  We immediately hit it off!
Over the course of last summer we would talk from time to time and many times for several hours. I truly enjoyed getting to know Craig and sure would have loved to seen and gotten to know him even more.
He was such a kind and gentle soul who loved the Lord Jesus.
See you again dear Brother in the heavens of glory!

He went to church with my brother Gene

He love discussing the Bible

I don't remember all the topics
 we covered but Craig was a
 very interesting person in a
       very intellectual person

I am very glad I got to meet 
   him and got to know him

Mr. Wood would visit us at Trader Joe’s in San Antonio and we all got to know him well. He was a great story teller and I looked forward to our chats and laughs. He was kind and thoughtful, always checking in on my family especially once my dad became sick. He thought the world of Craig and Chelsea and was so proud of them, it was lovely to witness.  Our deepest condolences to the family, sending love and light to you all. 

So sad to hear but we had some good times that I'll never forget. I remember the GTO but really remember going 120 mph on 78. In a convertible it really interesting at that speed.  We would listen to Jethro Tull at a very high volume.

Craig and I grew up together throughout grammar school and high school.  We were both involved in sports, but our true bond was our love of cars and NASCAR. I would go over to his house and help him work on his GTO or any other number of mechanical  items to tinker with. He in turn would come to my house and help me with any of a number of cars I was working on at the time. I’ll never forget him naming my 1959 Plymouth the “Lead Sled” .  Though time and responsibilities have separated us for awhile, we reconnected to again talk about our passion. God speed my friend. We’ll meet again at the checkered flag.

Craig and I were childhood friends through grammar school and high school and beyond We recently found each other on Facebook and started reminiscing about our days hanging out and driving around in his gold GTO Miss him alot when he joined the service He was very good friend always there to help out I thought some day we could get together again when we found each other on Facebook May you Rest In Peace God Bless

I fist met Craig when he was selling seeds to raise money to buy a mini bike. I was delivering papers and my route was in his neighborhood. We started to hangout together working on his mini bike and later his GTO. As our lives went separate way we always kept in touch. We messaged each other the last time a couple days before he passed. I will miss you Craig.

Craig was the kindest man to our family.  He often chatted with us while doing his yard work.  His presence and smile will be greatly missed.

My brother Craig could fix anything! I have fond memories of watching him work on all of the family’s cars. He was a great mechanic and loved to work on anything with wheels and a motor. That was his true passion. Sometimes he would clean car parts in the kitchen sink, much to Mom’s dismay! Craig was always a “grease monkey” using lots of Lava Soap to try to keep his hands clean. I thought it was amazing when he let me drive his minibike! He built go-carts from scratch and was always focused on cars. Mom said, even as a young child, Craig could identify the make and model of any car that drove by our house! He loved his gold GTO convertible, and I loved when he would take me for a ride in it. I felt like the coolest kid in town when we would drive around, sometimes going “a little over” the speed limit! 
Craig, I know you are cruising around in heaven right now in that gold ragtop beauty. That would truly be my idea of heaven for you….and going just “a little over” the speed limit! 
 I love you and will miss you. We shared the same viewpoint on many things, and I enjoyed discussing those topics with you. And I loved to hear about how proud you were of your son through the years, and all he was accomplishing in life. Job well done Craig!

Craig and I were 18 months apart so we were close growing up.  We rode our bikes everywhere especially to fish and ice skate at Nomaheagan  Park.  I attribute my athletic ability to my brother.  He taught me how to throw and catch a hardball.  I had black eyes during the learning process.   As we grew, he taught me how to drive and took me to take my driving test.  On our way home, in the pouring rain, the brakes went out and I drove right through a stop sign.  Craig switched places and got us home with no brakes!  He fixed them, of course!  There are so many more stories of growing up together.  We drifted apart when he went into the service.  I always say, "life gets in the way".  He loved his son with all his heart and followed him everywhere he was transferred.    He will be happy knowing he can  stay near Craig Jr.    I am so thankful for the life we had and I am so  grateful God took Craig with no suffering.  He is in a better place now  with no worries.
