Mr. Correy was born August 17, 1933 in Cooper, IA, son of the late Irwin Paul Correy and Ethel Oberkamper Correy. He was a member of the Advent Lutheran Church of LaGrange and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Perry, IA. Mr. Correy proudly served his country in the United States Army and returned home when his father had a paralyzing accident while building the family home. Thus, Mahlon got his start in construction and continued thru his lifetime. He worked all his life as a Construction Contractor, owning his own business, Correy Construction. Mr. Correy loved to fish and read books, but also had a deep love and extraordinary talent for building very intricate and operational wooden toys. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Luella Rifen Correy, son Jeff Correy, stepson Marty Baker, and sisters Norma Jean and Marilyn.
Survivors include his sons, Steve L. (Jennifer) Correy and Matt Baker (Kristin), sister, Janice Correy; 6 grandchildren, Jeremy (Cody), Jill (Blaine), Katie (Jason), Wes, Marie and Viviana; 7 great grandchildren, Cameron, Jordy, Annabelle, Willow, Van, Ethan, and Little Cameron; several other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00am Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the Advent Lutheran Church of LaGrange, GA.
