Jerry Leon Wilkerson Sr.

Jerry was born December 4, 1938 in Jacksonville, AL, son of the late Hazel Ruth Rochester Wilkerson and stepfather Warren Richard Wilkerson. He was a mechanic and could fix anything with a motor. He worked for Ford Motor Company and City Yacht Club in Santa Barbara, CA. Responding to the call of the open road, Jerry, traveling on his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle lived a life of adventure, traveling often from Georgia to California throughout his life. To those with whom he was the closest, many wonderful memories are shared. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lonnie Elaine Cummings.

Survivors include his children, Alice Connor, Debra McGuffin (Lee), Gayla Miller, Jerry Wilkerson, Jr, David Garrett (Kiersten), Angella Garrett, and Shayne Adams; 13 grandchildren, Adam Joseph Wilkerson Hewett (Wendy), Christopher John Stone (Amanda), Micheal Paul Stone , Virginia (“Jenny”) Elaine Darden, Cassandra LeAnn Bourgeois (Andy), Matthew Paul McGuffin (Kimberly), Kristie Michelle Hurst (Randy), Jessica Brooke Addison (Steven), Amanda Nicole McGiffin, Joshua Lee Henry, Amanda Lee Patterson, Brandon Dawson Miller, and Jack Garrett; 38 great grandchildren, and extended family.

The gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. and a Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in LaGrange, GA with Rev. Jason Jones officiating. The interment will follow the service at Heard County Memorial Gardens in Franklin, GA.
