Patricia (Patti) Ann Short-Barnes went to her Eternal Home on November 13, 2023. She passed quietly in her sleep after 10 weeks of Hospice care.
Patti was born in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated from East Des Moines High School in 1948 then married Earl Short. They had 2 children, Sandra Sue and Roland Lee. In 1955 they moved to Phoenix Arizona then in 1967 to Norman Oklahoma. Patti worked as a secretary with the Oklahoma University Marching Band and the Drama Department until retiring in 1991. After retirement she worked part time for the Oklahoma University Credit Union. In 1986 she married William E. Barnes then in 2018 she moved to San Diego, California.
Patti served the Order of the Eastern Star as Worthy Matron, as Royal Matron for the Order of the Amaranth in both Norman and Edmond Oklahoma. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose and Daughters of the Nile.
Patti is survived by her children Sandra Kruse and Roland Short; grandchildren Ryan Kruse, Dwight Kruse, Shannon Chambliss, Derek Short and Erika Binder and 6 great grandchildren.
