So sad for the loss of your husband, dad and friend. He was loved so much. God bless him and May he rest with God.

He was such a kind and loving person to all and to me he was my
Hero .So many good memories since I was a little girl of his
special kind heart and example of being a truly good man,

Dear Chief, 

I want to apologize for not prioritizing your health and visiting you. I will always remember your kind soul and genuine heart when it came to me and my mom. You treated us as if we were your own family and always made us feel loved and appreciated. I thank you for giving us your family especially my Uncle Paul. I look up to him and know his love for family and caring for others comes from you. I remember as a kid watching you and ma feed all of Lemon Grove and thinking damn those are some big omelets. Thank you for you Service and I remember when I joined the Army your shared some stories and I couldn’t tell who was happier to listen and talk Army me or Poppy. Ready easy sir, give Poppy and Nanny our love and look after us. You and I shared the same sadness when the Chargers left but now you have the best view to any game you wish to see. I appreciate the friendship and kindness your shared my Grandma. Man I miss her. Tell everyone we said hi. I’ll be here for your family and do my best to take care of my Uncle. Love you Chief, that is a badass nickname too.

Tell poppy I will always remember that cowboy hat and being a crybaby at the fair all them years ago.

Gustavo Alvarez and family send our condolences, hugs, love and prayers to the loved ones of Jose. Gustavo fondly remembers working with him and their brothers in a warehouse for 6 years. Our families spent many weekends together, which were the source of many other happy memories. Jose loved his family and always made you feel welcome in his home. Uncle Chepe, Chipper, you will be missed.

Please know my heart reaches out to all Jose’s family. I’m sure he was proud of each and everyone. May he rest in peace with God. I’m sure he will be missed so much.

I was sorry to learn of Joe’s passing. He was a good friend and part of my California family.  I have so many wonderful memories of the good times spent in San Diego, and Joe has always been a part of that making me feel at home and letting me know I was part of the family.  Please know that you are all in my prayers for comfort and peace. 

Joe was one of the best! He was a great husband, father and grandpa.  So sorry for your loss.

You were so loved and such a nice man!!! You have such a special family.  I enjoyed coming to your house growing up. I will miss you and your family misses you terribly but will see you again, Chief
