On February 12, 2023, Rogelio Benito Vento peacefully passed away at his home in Mercedes, Texas surrounded by his loving family. The family is deeply saddened at the loss of this good man. Nevertheless, we are blessed to have shared and created many wonderful memories that will last us a lifetime. Roy's battle with cancer has ended and only the disappointment and sadness is replaced with knowledge that he is at peace and finally free of this difficult battle. He will be greatly missed.
Roy was 57 years old. He was born on July 22,1965 to Benito and Oralia Vento. Roy was location manager/funeral director for the last 20 years at Buena Vista Funeral Home in Brownsville. He spent much of his life comforting families during the most difficult time of their lives. Roy will be missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched.
Preceding Roy in death are his father, Benito Vento Jr., mother; Oralia Vento, Brothers Gilberto and Jaime Vento.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Dina Ann Vento of 27 years, Daughters; Summer and Mika Vento, Sisters; Norma (Rudy) Reyes of Mercedes, Belia (Keith) Payne of Harlingen, Rudy (Sylvia) Quesada, Mercedes.
A visitation for Roy will be held, Thursday, February 16, 2023 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Rd, La Feria, Texas. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 pm. A funeral Mass will occur Friday, February 17, at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mercedes. Interment to follow at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park.
