Maria G. Pena

Harlingen Texas - Maria G. Pena, 91, of Primera was called to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, June 13, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 8, 1924 in Harlingen to her parents Epimenio and Apolonia Gomez.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Jesus Pena, daughter Felicitas Aguilar and son Manuel G. Pena.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Petra Pena, Pedro G. (Gracie) Pena, Frances (Carlos) Martinez Jr., Dolores Pena, Martin Pena, Tom (Janie) Pena, Ramiro Pena, Lelia Pena, and Biada (Rudy) Galvan. She was also blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 15 from 3-9pm with a Rosary at 7 pm at Heavenly Grace in La Feria.

Funeral mass will take place at Heavenly Grace at 10 am followed by a graveside service at Combes City Cemetery Thursday, June 16.

Serving as pall bearers will be Dylan and Devin Orsini, Stephen and Devin Roy, Michael Pena, Lucio Araiza and Martin Pena as Honorary pall bearer.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Evans, Dr. Alfredo Garcia, Dr. Rafael Lopez and Dr. Stephen Hook for being a part of their loving mother's health care. Thank you also to Gentiva Hospice for their professional care, Golden Palms rehabilitation services staff and The South Texas Providers Service.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Heavenly Grace Funeral Home and Crematory, a Dignity memorial provider.
