Col. Harlan Ambrose Lucas, age 90, of Harlingen, Texas passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022. Harlan was born October 21, 1931 to Claude & Ora Belle in Rudd Iowa.
Harlan was born an only child he farmed until he enlisted in the US Air Force after high school until 1951, he married Dixie Berger and had three children Michael Lucas, Marty Lucas and Marcy Van Note he later divorced and remarried in 1971 to Betty Shelton for 51 years.
He was commander of the American legion post 439 of La Feria Texas for 20 years. Harlan owned a local mobile home and repair business.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his two stepchildren; David Shelton and Deborah Peterson he is survived by his wife and three children two stepchildren; Karla Bridgewater, Doug Shelton, 16 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at a later time.
