Carlene Elizabeth Evans, a vibrant and adventurous spirit, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2024, at the age of 88. Her life, marked by boundless enthusiasm and deep love for her family, friends, and passions, leaves a legacy of cherished memories and joyful moments.
Born on August 30, 1936, Carlene was a beloved mother to her three children. Her unwavering dedication to her family was the cornerstone of her life, and her children remember her as a nurturing and supportive mother whose love knew no bounds. Carlene's proudest achievements were her children and the strong, loving family she helped build.
Carlene’s zest for life was evident in her many hobbies and interests. She found immense joy in fishing, a pursuit that allowed her to embrace the tranquility of nature while spending quality time with loved ones. Whether she was reeling in a catch or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings, fishing was a cherished escape for Carlene.
Her love for playing cards with friends was another highlight of her social life. Carlene's competitive spirit and knack for strategic thinking made her a formidable player, but it was her laughter and camaraderie that truly made those card games memorable.
Traveling was a passion that took Carlene to numerous destinations, each journey enriching her life and broadening her horizons. From exploring new cities to soaking in scenic landscapes, she embraced every opportunity to experience the world. While traveling, Carlene discovered the thrill of zip lining, an adventure that perfectly complemented her fearless and energetic approach to life. She reveled in the exhilaration of soaring through the treetops, a testament to her unshakable spirit and love for new experiences.
Carlene is survived by her three children Tony Evans (Gwynne), Tim Evans (Lisa) and Peggy Curtis (Bill) and her brother Bud Ward (Sharon) as well as her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, whom she adored and who will miss her dearly. She is also remembered fondly by a wide circle of friends and extended family, all of whom were touched by her kindness, humor, and generosity.
Carlene Elizabeth Evans will be remembered for her adventurous soul, loving heart, and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone around her. She will be deeply missed and forever celebrated.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist of La Feria, 208 S. Main Street, La Feria, TX, on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 5PM.
