Weldon “Jerry” Butler Jr, 81, of Peru passed away unexpectedly at Hickory Creek Nursing Home on February 11, 2022, at approximately 1:54 p.m. On November 3rd, 1962, in Forest, IN, he married Sandra Kay Rosa. Jerry worked 36 years at Chrysler as a skilled trade until his retirement in early 1999 due to his health. A few of Jerry’s hobbies included racing RC cars and being a long-time little league coach of more than 30 years who was loved and respected by many.
Surviving are his children; Teresa (Jack) Armstrong of Kokomo, IN, Kimberly (Steve) Ballenger of Kokomo, IN, Jerry (Kimberly) Butler of Peru, IN, and Amber (Jeromy) Powell of Kokomo, IN. In addition to his children, he is survived by 8 grandchildren; Timothy Butler of Savannah, GA., Ashlea (Cole) Graves of Virginia Beach, VA., James Reed of Carmel, IN., Jonathan Reed of Kokomo, IN., Brandyn (Sierra) Butler of Galveston, IN., Jadelynn Costley of Sutton, AK, Wesley Butler of Kokomo, IN. and Jessica Butler of West Lafayette, IN. As well as 3 great-grandsons; Phillip, Jonathan Jr., and Khai, 4 great-granddaughters; Nevaeh, Layla, Payton, and Lydia, and another great-grandson, Jaxxon, due in May 2022.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Sandra Kay Butler, a son Jerry Joe, his parents Weldon Jerome Sr. and Lillian Butler and a brother David Butler.
