Ruth Irene Duncan

Ruth Irene Duncan, 93, Kokomo, passed away November 25, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born September 27, 1922, the daughter of Hershel and Flossie (Burget) Hardesty. Ruth was one of 10 children. She was a member of First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Kokomo. Ruth enjoyed travelling. Her family was her world. Ruth is survived by her daughter, LuAnn Farrington; her step-son, Richard R. Duncan; and her step-daughter, Lisa Duncan; her grandchildren, Michael Henry (Tonia), Christy Farr, Brian Bagozzi (Bridget), and Stephanie Gray; and her step-grandchildren, Melissa Duncan and Christopher Duncan; her great-grandchildren, Kaytlen, Madison (Jerry), Timothy, Ryan, Allison, Benjamin, and Lilly; her great-great-grandson, Jace; her two sisters, Rosemary Dillon (Jim), and Jane Reason; and her sisters-in-law, Rita Hardesty, Dean Hardesty, Joan Hardesty, and Karen Karchner; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Duncan in 1982, her daughter Cynthia Gray, her parents, her five brothers, Robert, Raymond, Ralph, Rex and Richard Hardesty, her two sisters, Ruby Longfellow and Reba Snodgrass, her sister-in-law, Mildred Hardesty, her brothers-in-law, Robert Longfellow and William Reason, her three nieces, Sherry, Stephanie, and Cathy, and her nephew, David. The family would like to say a special thank you to Ruth’s church family at First Evangelical Presbyterian Church for their prayers, the doctors, nurses, and staffs at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo and St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, and North Woods Village and North Woods Commons for their care and kindness the last few months. There will be no services, and a private entombment will be in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
