Russell Lee Coleman

Russell Lee Coleman, age 79, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 with family by his side. Russell was born October 26, 1942 in Kokomo In. to Holland and Mary Frances (Fort) Coleman. Russell attended Kokomo schools. Russell loved watching basketball and football games. His favorite teams were the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, Ohio State and IU. He enjoyed reading his sports magazines featuring football and basketball either college or pro. In his youth you would find him at Sommers Park, Studebaker Park or Foster Park either watching or playing basketball. Russell was a people person and seemed to know everyone he came in contact with. He enjoyed going to the Road Knights events during the summers. Russell loved dancing and there was a dance that was named after him. He enjoyed watching soap operas daily: The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital and game shows: Let's Make a Deal and The Price is Right. Russell is survived by one brother Milton Coleman. His nieces Patricia Williamson, Selina (Shawn) Clark, A'sha Clark, Ariona Coleman, Neria Coleman, Natasha, Tiena, Caiah, Ceah and Asia. Nephews Troy Coleman, David (Nicolea) Coleman Jr., Shawn Clark II and Jeremiah. Russell was loved by many cousins and friends. Russell was preceded in death by his parents; Holland and Mary Frances Coleman. 2 brothers Lige Coleman and David Coleman Sr., Sister in law Margaret Coleman. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Monday at Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, 816 E. Mulberry St. Kokomo with Pastor Otis Harris officiating. Friends may visit the family from 11 am to 1 pm at the church. Burial will follow at Crown Point Cemetery.
