Phyllis J. Martin

Phyllis J. Martin, age 73, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Phyllis was born September 23, 1948 in New Castle, IN to Ernest and Lizzie (Massengale) Voiles. On October 23, 1967 Phyllis married Michael W. Martin and he passed away on Sept. 28, 2004.

Phyllis worked for Delphi for 32 1/2 years until her retirement. She loved crocheting, working puzzles, and watching sci-fi shows. Phyllis loved being a mother, grandma, great-grandma and will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include her daughters, Laura (Michael) Isaac, Angela (David Scott) Trimble, and Ashley (Terry) Lassiter; daughter in-law Katrina Martin; sisters, Roxanne Barnett, Carolyn (Mike) Curts, and Dorothy (Scott) Huntsman; brother,Ernest (Sharon) Voiles; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Isaac, Hannah Isaac, Shawn Trimble, Darian Trimble, Cole Trimble, Darrell Michael (Tasha) Martin, Kera Martin, Alexys Martin, Lindsay (Chris) Curless, Tiffany Lassiter, Claire Dalton, and Noah Dalton; great-grandchildren, Elouise, Oliver, Music, Erin, Tori, Bentley, Lincoln and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Lizzie Voiles; husband, Michael W. Martin; son, Darrell W. Martin; sisters, Kathlene Hale, Ernestine Tyburczyk, and Marjorie Whittaker; brother, Silas Voiles; granddaughter Hope Isaac; and great-grandson, Liam Martin.

Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Ellers Mortuary at 725 S. Main Street. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 pm at Ellers Mortuary with Pastor Andrew Winey officiating. Burial will follow at Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery.
