Pedro “Pete” S. Moreno, 72, Kokomo, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at his home. He was born on November 10, 1940, in Brownsville, Texas, to Manuel and Esther (Sanchez) Moreno. On December 14, 1960, he married Adela (Gonzales) Moreno, and she survives.
He was a construction worker for Miller Pipeline and retired from there on December 20, 2002. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 103 and St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife, Adela, he is survived by four sons, Pete (Deanna) Moreno Jr., Swayzee, Mario (Debbie) Moreno, Kokomo, Andy (Sara) Moreno, Kokomo, and Jesse Moreno, Dallas, Texas; three daughters, Josie (Jason) McLain, Kokomo, JoAnn Moreno, Kokomo, and Janie Moreno, Indianapolis; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Manuel Moreno Jr. and Santiago Moreno; and two sisters, Sylvia Lozano and Angelica Espinosa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and one sister.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Father Marty Sandhage officiating. Burial will follow in Kokomo Memorial Park Cemetery.
