Michael Wayne Featherstone, 70, of Bunker Hill passed away at 10:02 PM Friday September 7, 2018 at his residence. Born January 27, 1948 in Kokomo, he was the son of the late Theodore Harold Featherstone and Nina Frances (Crawford) Featherstone. He attended Kokomo High School. Michael was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He married Vicky (Pierce) October 31, 2000. She preceded him in death in 2016. He was employed with Delco Electronics, retiring after 33 years of service. He was a member of U.A.W. Local #292. He was an avid gardener; enjoyed doing yardwork, fishing, cooking, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include one son Stephen (Kayla) Featherstone of Greentown; one daughter Brittney Williams of Fort Wayne; two step-daughters Jennifer (James) Vigar and Heather Harris, both of Peru; two sisters Penny (Jerry) Martin of Kokomo and Pam (Steve) Hicks of Galveston. There are also six grandchildren Jylian Vigar, Jameson Vigar, Jeramie Vigar, Eian Featherstone, Kayden Kirby, and Lillian Oliver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers Stephen and James Featherstone, also one sister Merrie Worley.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Pastor Ken Spangler will officiate. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Wednesday at the mortuary; also one hour prior to services on Thursday. Military Rites will be conducted by the U.S. Army and the Kokomo Military Rites Team. Memorials may be directed to the Howard County Vietnam Veterans Organization, with envelopes available at the mortuary.
