Jack was born September 10, 1927 to Joseph and Myrtle May (Brimberry) Wheeler in Kokomo. On June 18, 1948 he married Barbara Sue Deisch in the home of her parents by the Reverend George Halsten. Jack graduated from Kokomo High School in 1945. He worked for the Kroger Company for 16 years then he worked for Chrysler Corporation full and part time for 36 years. Jack enjoyed working at both places and said he met and worked some great people. Jack was a workaholic for sure. He loved yard work and being outdoors.
He loved Indiana basketball starting with K.H.S and all of Indiana college teams especially IU and Purdue. He loved music and he liked to read. He wrote lots of poems. He would put aside one hour each day to read and play his guitar. Jack loved to swim and deeply appreciated the wonders of nature. Jack was an inactive member of Russiaville Masonic Lodge No. 82. He was a member of South Side Christian Church, and again met some fantastic people in the congregation.
Jack is survived by daughter Valerie Sue and husband Bob, sons Mark L and Heather and Jack Martin (Marty) and Jan. Grandchildren Josh, Kyle, Adam, Haley and Abbigail, two great-grandchildren Jack and Cohen, and several nieces and nephews.
