I was 15 and Brent was 17.  I had my learners permit and he had his operators license.  Our mom asked us to go get fresh eggs out in the country around Walton.  She told Brent to let me drive and get some practice.
As I am barreling down a gravel road, Brent tells me to make a right.  I slammed the brakes and skidded around in the gravel!
Needless to say, I put some fear in him. (Which was unusual as he was the one traumatizing me with his driving!)
On the evening we took Brent to Ascension Hospital in Carmel, I was wheeling him in on a wheelchair.  I asked him if he remembered the last time I drove with him and recounted the story of the eggs.  He said with a big smile, "Oh yes, I remember that well!!"
We had a nice laugh!
My big brother being gone has left a huge hole in my heart as well as others who knew him.  He was always happy and never met a stranger.
I look forward to seeing him in the new world where death will be no more!

Brent was like my big -little brother tilI I got to Jr High. I very often give The Lord sincere thanks that the Summer's  back  yard  and my   yard shared a corner. Their humble, loving, kind, and godly lives, full of the Gospel, full of The Word, full of Wisdom shaped me with Jesus being lived through them. Kingdom seeds went deep. I did not have them around as reminders long enough, but they gave me a eye for the real deal...Christ's Love lived out in a person, each of them.
We would all play for several hours...epic current, popular TV series games of the day...we all had wild imaginations,  F-Troop, McKale's Navy, Man From Uncle, The Avengers...the open field (s) and corn fields, and trees were out stage props...not to mention their swing set. 
They would invite me in for a real family table meal...no TV tray garbage on front of the Tube!! 
Brent coached me sincerely on how to not pay back evil for evil, "kill 'em with kindness!!"..I was shocked, but The Glory of God hit me, I was at first offended, then it hit my heart, took my breath away, and opened the door for The Lord to change my heart...I remember him saying that, "kill em with kindness" a few times. 
It stuck.  I can only give True credit to the Holy Spirit! I can see him now, with his bike turned upside down on their front lawn as he piled his bicycle chain, cranking the pedals, with my radio sitting in a nearby tree playing WIOU...I don't think they were allowed to have one...what a blessing not to have that influence on their lives. 
Heaven is Real guys!! This is just a shadow of a tangibly real Heaven that anyone can enjoy through Jesus, the Real Deal...I am really looking forward to spending Eternity with Brent and the whole Summers fam...how about you??!!  
Brent Summers is more alive now then he has ever been!! I'm frankly a little jealous that he got there first! He's got one on me for sure...I out ran him in running races for years, looks like he beat me on this one BIG TIME!! LOL!

Our hearts are broken and go out to the whole Summers family. We will always treasure the times we spent together. We will miss the stories and being around a one of a kind guy who was just naturally fun to be with, entertaining to say the least. No matter how many times he told a story he had a knack for making you laugh harder than the first time. Brent was a riot. We are especially looking forward to seeing him again in the New World to come where we can enjoy his company again. He was a good brother and friend.

I'm so very sorry for your loss.  We'll miss his stories and his laughter.  Soar high sweet kind friend ,  you will be missed. Prayers for the friends and family.  ❤️

Good Friend
It really hurts to say good-bye, especially to someone you always thought would be there forever.  I miss you already and we nearly got together once more. I’ll share the stories but most won’t believe them. We just never know when we will be called do we. I had a surprise for you but now you already know.

The great story teller will be missed. Every gathering will be quieter and have less laughter without Brent. Let’s all gather great stories to tell him when he wakes up.

My favorite oldest cousin😀. One of  my earliest memories with Brent is when uncle Bob & June lived in Galveston, I was sitting on Brent’s lap eating an apple, I choked on it and Brent quickly folded me over his knee slapped across my back to dislodge the food. I couldn’t have been more than 3 yrs old but recall it as if were yesterday. 

I recently spoke with Brent about the attached photo taken by my father Bill Summers not sure of the year. Brent recalled it immediately. Brent, Julie, Wendy & Tracy.
