Sarah Wanda Chandler Koontz

Koontz, Sarah Wanda Chandler, age 90, of Knoxville and Kingston, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Turkey Creek Medical Center. Wanda was born June 14, 1923 in Sevier County, Tennessee. She will be greatly missed by those who knew her and by all whose lives she touched. She will be remembered as a loving and wonderful mother and grandmother, who treasured spending time with her family. An active member at various Baptist churches in the communities in which she lived, she was there for all giving love and time to both her family and others in the community. She enjoyed spending time in schools, delivering clothes and medicine for her church, and taking care of the sick. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Donald (Don) Koontz; her parents, James Calvin and Julia Ruth Spangler Chandler; and a brother, Hoyle M. Chandler. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Lynn Williams and husband, Frank of Kingston, Tennessee and Judith Elaine (Judy) Stewart and husband, Harold of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Bradley Williams and wife, Ania; Darren Williams and wife, Corie; Clayton Williams; Julia Stewart Price, Brian Stewart, John Stewart and wife, Kressa; and Allan Stewart; great grandchildren, Maja and Radek Williams; Julianna, Colton, and Karalynn Williams; Nik Price; and Kyndal and Elyse Stewart. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at noon to 2:00 o’clock with the funeral to follow at 2:00 o’clock in the Berry Funeral Home Chapel at 3704 Chapman Highway. Dr. Clarence Sexton officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
