Ruth Stover, 79, passed away on July 23 surrounded by her loving family after a short illness. Ruth graduated from Toronto (Ohio) High School in 1953 and moved to Akron, Ohio where she worked at Ohio Edison. In 1958 Ruth married the love of her life, Doug, and they had three children: Kim, Dave, and Lisa. Ruth was a homemaker extraordinaire. Through moves to Maryland, Connecticut, North Carolina, and Tennessee, Ruth used her creativity, ingenuity, and immense love for her family to create a warm and happy place for her family to thrive. Ruth passionately loved Doug, her husband of 56 years; her children, Kim Stover (Columbus, Indiana), David Stover and wife Sherry Stover (Knoxville), and Lisa Murphy and husband David Murphy (Maryville); her grandchildren, Andrew Murphy, 11, and Jordan Murphy, 9 (Maryville); her sisters Mary Widdicombe (Akron, Ohio) and Lois Crispino (Toronto, Ohio) and sister-in-law Karen Miller (Akron, Ohio). Additionally, Ruth is survived by her brother-in-law Roc Crispino (Toronto, Ohio), brother Sam Johns (Toronto, Ohio), and nieces and nephews. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents Helen and Earl Johns (Toronto, Ohio), brother John Johnston (Toronto, Ohio), and brother-in-law Richard Widdicombe (Akron, Ohio). Ruth’s smile was big and infectious, and her heart gave of itself unconditionally. She will be missed every day forever. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any charity of choice. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 27th, 2014 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Highland West Memorial Funeral Home, with funeral service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Graveside service will immediately follow in Highland West Memorial Cemetery.
