Peggy Ickes, 63, of Norris, Tennessee (formerly of Kiefer, OK), went to be with her Lord on April 3rd, 2019. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Ruby Alston, and her son Billy Joe Ickes. She is survived by her husband David, daughter Jackie Daley (Kris), and three grandbabies she adored, Landon, Kamden, and Addilyn Grace, and her sisters Donna Vineyard (Rick), Patty Hankins (Rick) and Jan Glover (Jack), as well as her nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Peggy was a devoted wife, mother and Gigi. She loved her family deeply, and would not hesitate to sacrifice for them. After becoming a mother to Jackie, Peggy chose to stay home and raise her daughter, and create a beautiful home filled with love for her husband and child. She loved shopping with her sister, and best friend Donna, and they both shared a love of beautiful jewelry, which Peggy passed down to her granddaughter Addi.
Peggy doted on her grandchildren, and did an amazing job of making them feel loved and appreciated. She and her oldest grandson Landon, shared a love of games, and enjoyed creating and collecting dragons on Dragonvale. She helped her grandson Kamden, learn to crochet, and they loved to sit and chat with each other. Her granddaughter Addilyn, loved to play make believe and jewelry with her Gigi, they would spend hours in Gigi’s room going through all the pretty things Gigi had collected.
If you had the privilege of knowing Peggy, you know that she would give you the shirt off her back if she knew you were in need. She was hard working, generous and devoted to her family. She created a beautiful legacy by loving unconditionally and with great abundance. Although she battled sickness over the past few years, Peggy was still sharp witted and loved to laugh and spend time with her family. She will be greatly missed; however, we know that she is celebrating in Heaven today and was welcomed by those she missed so very much, her son, and her mom and dad.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Peggy on June 27, 2020 at 11:00am at Collective Church, 596 West 141st Street, Glenpool, OK 74033. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Peggy's honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Condolences and memories may be left to the family www.berryhighlandwest.com
