Paul T Stamps

Stamps, Paul Thomas, age 90, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Mercy North Hospital. Paul was a faithful member at Salem Baptist Church in Halls. He was preceded in death by his parents Vance Stamps, Sr. and Maggie Stamps; brothers and sisters, Gene Stamps, Violet Bailey, Bill Stamps, Reba Stamps, Marie Stamps, Annie Ruth Stamps, Sanford Stamps,

Edward Stamps and Vance Stamps, Jr. Paul was an Army veteran of World War II. He retired as business agent after being affiliated for 72 years with Carpenter Local 50.

Paul is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary Freeman Stamps; his children Paulette (David) Anderson, Tom (Sandy) Stamps, Mike (Janice) Stamps, Anne (Bob) Hurley, and Karen (Bobby Joe) Atchley; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Receiving of friends will be at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 2300 W. Adair Dr. on Monday, August 22, 2011 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Michael Eldridge officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Salem Baptist Church Building Fund, 8201 Hill Rd., Knoxville, TN 37938 in honor of Paul T. Stamps.
