Opal A Thompson

Opal A. Thompson, 99, has gone home to be with the Lord who she so passionately loved and served on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Opal had an infectious personality that filled every heart she encountered with joy, love, and laughter. Her big heart, quick wit, warm smile, and great sense of humor will be dearly missed. She was a devoted military wife who was passionate about our veterans and those serving in the military. Opal’s love of life will continue on through her daughter, Linda Thompson; daughter-in law, Darleen Thompson; grandsons, Tony and Ted Thompson; great grandchildren, Tony, Addie, and Jack Thompson and her church family at Galilee Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, on Saturday, April, 8, 2017 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm with a Chapel Service at 2:00pm. A procession to follow to Galilee Baptist Church cemetery for interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Galilee Baptist Church, 8622 Pickens Gap Road, Knoxville, TN 37920.
