Nancy Harrison Thompson

Nancy Harrison Thompson, age 93, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023, at her home in Crouse, North Carolina. A daughter of the late Lawrence C. and Blanche Breeden Harrison, she was born on October 9, 1929 in Knoxville, Tennessee and lived in the Knoxville area until 2013 when she moved to Crouse, North Carolina to be near her daughter and grandchildren.

Mrs. Thompson worked at Sears in Knoxville for 26 years until her retirement in 1992. She was a charter member of Cumberland Baptist Church in Knoxville where she worked with Children’s Ministry in the Nursery. She was also an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making clothing. Mrs. Thompson enjoyed painting custom wood crafts which were made by her husband Keron.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Keron Durden (KD) Thompson; and four brothers, Jack, Clay, Herb and Paul (Butch).

Surviving are her sister, Joyce Williene and Bob Duff of Dandridge, Tennessee; daughter and son-in-law Vikki and David Sweat of Cherryville, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Janet Thompson of Denton, Texas; six grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Mrs. Thompson’s life and home going will be held at 1:00pm for receiving friends and 2:00pm for the memorial services on Saturday July 8, 2023 at Berry Highland Memorial, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919. Flowers may be sent to Berry Highland Memorial.
