Melvin Hill, age 85 of Knoxville, passed away September 4, 2016. He had served his country in the United States Air Force; retired from Dempster Brothers and the Knox County Sheriff’s Department after many years of dedication. Preceded in death by his parents William and Lottie Hill; wife Betty Jean Hill, along with eight siblings.
Survivors include his daughter Christina Nichols; grandchildren: Angela Nichols and Daniel Jones; great grandchildren: Taylor Nichols, Savannah Hill, Brianna Collins, Nathaniel Jones and Kaitlyn Jones; special friend Daniel Hill, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel with entombment following in Lynnhurst Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
