Mary Elizabeth Whaley Cutshaw, age 95, of Maryville, died peacefully at home on September 17, 2022. Born in Knoxville, she graduated from Rule High School in 1945. Mary was a valued secretary for Oldham Insurance. She also sang with her three sisters, The Whaley Sisters, from an early age at different churches and on the radio. She married the love of her life, C.E. "Eddie" Cutshaw in 1947 and blessed him with four children. She made a loving and welcoming home for all. She was an avid bowler and loved gardening. Mary became Eddie's secretary when he opened Eddie's Dental Lab in 1955. She was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church.
Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Eddie Cutshaw; parents, Charles Rogers Whaley and Elsie Kate Parrish Whaley; sisters: Loretta Sellers, Dorothy Morris, Barbara Snapp; brothers: Cecil Whaley, Charles Whaley II and Eugene Whaley.
She is survived by children: Don Cutshaw and wife Addie, Suzie Cutshaw, Cindy Christiansen and husband Bob, Bob Cutshaw and wife Missy; grandchildren: Elizabeth Harn and husband Tony, Stephanie Christiansen LaRocco and husband Patrick, Laura Cutshaw and husband, Austin Harris, Leigh Cutshaw and fiance, Eric Caldwell, Ashley Dyson and husband Chad; great grandchildren: Zoe Harn, Ivan LaRocco, Lainey Caldwell, Baby Dyson; many nephews and nieces. Special thanks to caregiver and friend Kim Dockery.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 24, 2022 between the hours of 10:00am-12:00pm in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville with a Celebration of Life to follow, officiated by Rev. Don Wilson. Family and friends will go in procession to Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville for a 1:00pm Interment Service. Pallbearers: Don Cutshaw, Bob Christiansen, Bob Cutshaw, Charles Whaley III, Tony Harn, Patrick LaRocco, Austin Harris and Paul Fender. The Celebration of Life and Graveside Services will be Live-Streamed on the Berry Funeral Home Facebook page.
