Mark Blankenship

Blankenship, Mark Edward age 25 of Knoxville passed away at his home Monday, September, 15, 2014. He was a 2009 graduate of Gibbs High School and Employed by Sunshine Industries. He was an active participant in Challenger League Sports and Special Olympics. He was also an avid follower of high school and college football.

Preceded in death by grandparents Earl and Roberta Wood and grandmother Nina Blankenship. Survivors include his parents Mike and Joy Blankenship and sister Bonny Blankenship, grandfather John “John Boy” Blankenship, aunts and uncles George and Candy Bell, Tim and Susan Connors, Greg and Mary Grace Blankenship, Mary Ann Wood, and beloved cousins and their spouses. A special Thank You to Mark’s friends at Holston Middle School, Gibbs High School and Sunshine Industries. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sunshine Industries 3000 North Central Street, Knoxville, Tennessee 37917. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 18, 2014 in the Lynnhurst/Greenwood Chapel from 6-8:30pm. A funeral service will be held Friday, September 19, 2014 at Smithwood Baptist Church at 11am with Rev. Luck Steele officiating. Internment services will follow in the Lynnhurst Cemetery with Dr. Alan Price officiating.
