Libby Hughes

Libby Hughes, age 93 of Knoxville passed away December 23, 2023. She was tough, independent and full of sweet southern charm and colorful stories of her life experiences. ‘Make yourself at home’, she’d say. She will no longer be lonely and gets to celebrate every holiday in heaven. Family and friends cherish all the memories made with her, holiday dinners and gatherings, gardening in the back yard, hand rolling biscuits, and feeding the outdoor critters. She worked for Sheraton Hotels for 20 years and then worked at Travis Meats for several years. Preceded in death by husband, Lockard Hughes; granddaughter, Nicole Hughes; brothers-in- law and sisters-in-law; David Hughes, Ashley S. Hughes, William Clark Hughes and grandson, Matthew Hughes. Survived by grandchildren, Brandon Hughes, Heather Hughes Hoover, David “Dave” Hughes and Nicholas Hughes; great-grandchildren, Cohen, River, Addie, Brittany Via, Kirsten Basham, and Kora; brother-in-law Raymond Hughes and daughter-in-law, Kathy Clark Hughes.
