Mrs. Letha Ruth Meredith

Letha Ruth Penery Meredith, age 87, joined her loving husband, “Pinky”, in Heaven on June 22, 2018. She was a member of Galilee Baptist Church in Knoxville and a member of the local Carpenters Union where she worked for many years as their secretary. Letha was an avid UT Vols fan and enjoyed many bus trips with her husband going to games. She also enjoyed eating out with her church senior group. Preceded in death by her parents, Carl H. and Edith L. Penery; husband, Ray “Pinky” Meredith; uncle, Bo Penery. Survivors include her special “adopted” family, Bradley and Dianna Russell; “adopted” grandchildren, Austin and Emily Russell; Aunt, Nancy Penery; cousin, Teresa and Victor Anderson; special friends, Louise Spires and Barbara Huskey. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 27th from 5pm-7pm at Berry Highland South Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow with Rev. Dwight Singleton officiating. Entombment will be Thursday, June 28th at 11 am at Berry Highland South Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Galilee Baptist Church, 8622 Pickens Gap Rd, Knoxville, TN 37920.
