Knoxville got a little duller when Kyle Day, 64, passed away on December 16th, 2019. Kyle spent his entire life taking care of other people. Whether it was keeping your lights on with his service at KUB since the age of 18 or generously giving to others in need, he was always there.
He is leaving behind many who he touched in big ways and small. His wife, Sheila Delaney Day, to whom he was married for 42 years. His children, Joseph Kyle Day and Jessica Hallie Marie Runtz along with son-in-law Derick Paul Runtz. Kyle was a devoted and amazing father who would move mountains to care for his children. He was the loving son to the late Mildred Buell. He was a beloved nephew and cousin to many. He was a cherished friend to his work family at KUB.
When he wasn't at work, he could usually be found to be cooking up delicious food that couldn't be beat, yelling at football games, rubbing the fuzzy cheeks of cats like Cyrano, calling up his youngins at home and work, or puttering around the store.
Kyle never knew a stranger. His smile and sense of humor could light up the room, and these memories will be forever cherished. If you would like to join us in celebrating his life and carrying on his spirit, the family will be hosting a visitation at Berry Funeral Home on December 22nd from 2:00-3:30PM with memorial services following at 3:30PM.
